Awards Ceremony for the Best Short Story Competition
On February 24, 2022, Dak organized an awards ceremony, where the winners of the best short story competition related to successful women in the Sinjar community were honoured, within the project “Developing and Building Capacity of Women and Girls from Sinjar through Workshops and Training on Women’s Rights, Feminist Concepts and Leadership” funded by Canadian Embassy in Iraq. The party started with a summary of the project and a clarification from the jury on the mechanism for selecting the best stories, hearing the stories of some of the participants and honouring the winners.
This activity aimed to increase the skills of young people in the art of writing short stories about successful women from Sinjar, and to highlight the strength and determination of the women of Sinjar, despite the tragedy that happened to them, and to encourage them to move forward.
