(Women, peace, and security) conference about UNSCR 1325
Dak Organization for Ezidi Women Development, in partnership, with DOZ Organization and She Revolution group with the support of Un Ponte Per. organized a conference entitled “Women, peace and security,” about United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325; which is part of the project “Generating peace, the bridge between women of Iraq and Lebanon.” This conference was the conclusion of the Generating Peace project, which focused on promoting gender mainstreaming in peacebuilding and transmitting and sharing the experiences of women in Lebanon and Iraq; the conference covered various topics as follows:
– United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325
– The second national plan in the Kurdistan Region regarding Resolution 1325
– Women condition in camps and Social Welfare Department’s plan to improve their reality
– Survivor’s law, importance, obstacles, and implementation mechanisms
– Role of civil organizations in the implementation of 1325 resolution
– Women Leadership, Reality, and Challenges
– Women’s participation in generating peace and conflict resolution
Thanks to all the participants who attended the conference and participated in the discussion session. Thanks to the speakers who participated, shared their ideas and discussed the conference’s themes. We also thank government agencies and local and international organizations that participated, including their suggestions for enhancing the conference.
