The second meeting of the Kurdistan Region Board to implement Resolution 1325 on “Women, Peace, and Security” was convened with prominent attendees, including the Board President, His Excellency the Minister of Interior, Mr. Riber Ahmed, Dr. Khanzad Ahmed, Secretary-General of the High Council for the Development of Women, and Dina Zorba, representing Unwomen in Iraq and Yemen, along with several other distinguished individuals from the KRG.

 

During the meeting, the President of Dak Organization, as a member of Board 1325, discussed notable achievements made by both local and international civil society organizations in the Kurdistan Region. Additionally, the participants addressed the significant obstacles that women face in their endeavors to strengthen their role in realizing this agenda. The focus was on identifying fundamental needs that could facilitate women’s active participation in advancing the cause of peace and security.
