Jamila is a resident of Sharia Complex, a graduate of the Institute of Journalism. She is one of the participants of ‘Enhancing Social Cohesion and Peacebuilding in Duhok. Jamila was one of 15 female participants who participated in a project of three months with Dak Organization in partnership with IOM, she was one of the most interested participants to gain skills as she never practised her career and wanted to start practising and improving her skills. She participated in several trainings related to Media and how to write news repsort for newspapers, radio, social media networks … etc. “After my graduation, I did not practice the profession of journalism that I liked, and after I had the opportunity and participated in the DAK organization, I benefited a lot.” “I have gained new experiences in the field of writing reports and also new friends and from different religions. Since the end of the project, until now I have written news reports for local newspapers and magazines, and I have the ambition to continue further.” She added. ” My focus for writing my reports is on women and the issues that they are suffering from in our society” she said.
