Dak Organization participated in a special meeting with women from the Middle East and South Africa on “Women, Peace, and Climate Change,” in the presence of His Excellency the former Minister Abdulrahman Sadiq, Head of the Environmental Protection Agency in the Kurdistan Region, and Ms. Bayan Sami Abdul Rahman, Senior Advisor for Foreign Affairs and Climate Change from the Prime Minister’s Office in the Kurdistan Regional Government. Also present was Dr. Khanzad Ahmed, Secretary General of the High Council for Women and Development. During the meeting, the role of the KRG in the women’s agenda for security, peace, and climate, as well as mechanisms for addressing climate change and the agreements and treaties that the region operates under to protect the climate of Kurdistan region and enhance the role of women in it, were discussed.
