Activating and strengthening the role of minority women in implementing the agenda of women, security, and peace
The project aimed to activate and strengthen the role of minority women in implementing the agenda of women, security, and peace in both governorates Duhok and Ninawa. The project overall objective is 00. The project will have two main outcomes: (1) Developing and building the capacities of active women from minorities in the Nineveh Plains and Sinjar around the agenda of women, security, and peace. (2) Activating the role of government institutions, women’s civil society organizations, organizations working in the field of women’s rights, media institutions, police workers, and the judiciary in implementing the second national plan for the women’s, security, and peace agenda through an advocacy campaign to gain support on gender issues.
The project is targeting women from two governorate that are in need to be more aware of 1325 and WPS agenda as there are many minorities in those places, especially Ninawa Plains. Women and men from different components and religious/ community leaders to be part of the activities due to lack of services and awareness regarding WPS agenda and I-NAP in Iraq in general and in their regions.
